Control/Controlling

A comprehensively closed feedback loop including target definition, measurement of target achievement and resulting corrective and improvement action (e.g. PDCA). (from VDA volume 6.2)

Controlling is a systematic course of action over the entire life cycle from creation/changes via testing, classification, release, distribution, procurement, use, checking/adaptation, rescission, retention, to the secure destruction of documents. For specification documents, records and temporary documentation the extent of controlling differs regarding the required control criteria. (from VDA volume 1)
