Maximum permissible error (error limit) MPE

Extreme value of a measurement error with respect to a known reference value; approved by specifications or regulations for a measurement, measuring device or measuring system.

Note: The terms “maximum permissible error” or “limits of error” are usually used where there are two extreme values.
