Stable reference part

In addition to the definition provided in VDA Volume 5 (section 3.3), a reference part is considered stable if, during the time span from calibration to completion of the proof of measuring system capability, there are no significant changes to the original calibration value of the characteristic to be measured in relation to the measurement uncertainty of the measuring system.
