Manufacturing shop floor
The area(s) in a client’s manufacturing site where manufacturing processes occur, distinct from where administrative work is carried out. The following activities are considered manufacturing shop floor activities: the manufacturing of products, including shift change meetings; maintenance activities performed by operators in the manufacturing process; and any activity where production parts or materials are staged, packaged, shipped, received, inspected, and tested.
